12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (EDT)

Event Details

This event is offered in partnership with Colorado Nonprofit Association.

Nonprofits have a unique opportunity to lead the way in fostering inclusive workplaces and ensuring equitable services for LGBTQ+ employees and clients. This three hour training provides a supportive, non-judgmental space to learn about the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals, ask questions, and explore actionable strategies for creating affirming environments. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of LGBTQ+ identities, inclusive language, and the barriers that employees and clients may face. In addition to the basics of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, this training covers two key topic—Intersectionality and Cultural Humility—to introduce attendees not just definitions and best practices, but also to provide attendees with an overall lens on how to work across difference. Through real-world scenarios and interactive discussions, attendees will leave with the tools to build a more inclusive culture, prevent discrimination, and better serve LGBTQ+ communities. No prior knowledge is required—just a willingness to learn, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward equity and belonging.

This session is a deep-dive that will take place over the lunch hour. We encourage and welcome you to enjoy your lunch while you learn with us!
