Organization Overview

The Kittery Land Trust (KLT) was established in 1987 as a non-profit organization striving to protect special places in our community. Since that time, we have conserved almost 1,000 acres throughout town. We operate with a modest budget and one full-time staff person and one part-time staff person. KLT has an extremely active Board of Directors, numerous committees, and over 100 volunteers.

The Kittery Land Trust's mission is to "save land and build community" by working creatively with landowners, citizens, the Town of Kittery, schools, and neighboring conservation organizations to conserve, steward, educate, and enjoy the natural areas that enhance Kittery’s quality of life, now and into the future.
