Hurricane Island Outward Bound School

Hurricane Island Outward Bound School is a non-profit educational organization and expedition school that serves people of all ages and backgrounds through active learning expeditions that inspire character development, self-discovery, and service both in and out of the classroom. HIOBS delivers programs in Maine and Costa Rica using unfamiliar settings as a way for participants to experience adventure and challenge in a way that helps them realize they can do more than they thought possible. An independent member of the federated Outward Bound (OBUSA) national network, our mission is to unlock confidence, curiosity, and the skills to thrive with purpose, and spark lifelong growth through challenge—outside.
