Organization Overview

HAK-Support-Community (HAK) is a newly established nonprofit organization located in Lewiston, Maine, focused on social services. It serves disabled, elderly, low-income, and homeless residents of the state. Our mission is to promote mobility equity for Maine residents who are not served by existing programs, particularly targeting individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and low-income persons who face challenges accessing transportation for medical appointments and essential activities. HAK seeks to bridge a gap in Maine’s transportation network by providing accessible transport at no cost to riders. Our services aim to support independent living and empower elderly, disabled, homeless, and low-income individuals to actively participate in civic and community life. Additionally, the organization intends to provide shelter for those recovering from hospital discharge and facing homelessness.
