Organization Overview

Generational Noor is a nonprofit organization based in Maine, founded in 2021 by Amran Osman to address substance use, mental health, and community violence in BIPOC and immigrant communities. Our work is rooted in cultural responsiveness, youth empowerment, and intergenerational healing.

We focus on three key areas:
1. Intervention & Recovery – We support individuals impacted by substance use disorder and mental health challenges through peer-led recovery programs, community support groups, and direct resource navigation.

2. Youth Empowerment – Our mentorship program connects youth (ages 12–27) with BIPOC professionals from diverse fields including medicine, the military, and entrepreneurship. We run leadership training, sports engagement (basketball/soccer), mental health workshops, and academic support initiatives.

3. Community Connection & Advocacy – We organize multilingual events, stakeholder roundtables, and advocacy campaigns addressing root causes of violence, poverty, and stigma. Our model ensures that youth, parents, and community leaders all have a voice in shaping solutions.

Generational Noor has engaged hundreds of youth and families through culturally relevant services, food and transportation support, and trauma-informed programming. Our goal is to create sustained, inclusive systems of care where those most impacted can lead the way forward.
