Organization Overview

The mission of Bridge to Transformation (BtT) is to provide therapeutic services that focus on enhancing mental health in marginalized communities (centering on the LGBTQAI2S+ communities) through therapy, the arts, and meditation. BtT provides low to no cost therapeutic services throughout Maine and beyond both in person in Damariscotta and via telehealth. These services include individual therapy, group therapy, workshops, trainings, community events, and intensive therapy sessions.
BtT envisions these mental health services to be a continuum that enhances the wellness journeys of the people we serve. Providing a variety of therapeutic services that span different support, developmental, and wellness needs, individuals can engage in the ways that best support their journey towards optimum wellness. Through the combination of the BtT office, at community partners’ locations, and online, the therapeutic arts services will be accessible to many as well as enhance the communities both physical and virtual.

While a new nonprofit, BtT grew out of the needs that Gray Baldwin (executive director) discovered in their private practice. Frequently, Gray was contacted by people who needed therapy but could not afford even the lowest point of the sliding scale. It was obvious that there is a strong interest arts-based healing that is within reach of people who face economic discrimination. So BtT was formed.
