BBBSSM matches carefully vetted and trained volunteers as mentors with youth ages 7-17 across Cumberland and York County. Studies show that youth who have a mentor in their life have better attendance and perform better in school, are more likely to graduate and have a plan following high school - college, trade school or career. The impact of a having a mentor has long-lasting impact, with a recent study showing that kids who had a mentor went on to make 15% more than than their peers as they reached the ages of 20-25.
