Maine Candidates on Nonprofits

MANP encourages nonprofits to participate appropriately, legally, and fully in our democracy. We're here to help nonprofits learn how to engage voters, and we ask candidates for publicly elected office to share their experiences with and ideas for the nonprofit sector.

Charitable and educational nonprofits must remain nonpartisan and not take sides for a candidate or party. However, nonpartisanship does not mean nonparticipation!

The questionnaire was distributed by email on Wednesday, September 2nd, and candidates have until Sunday, September 20th to respond.

We will post responses the week of September 21st, and begin promoting to our community shortly thereafter. Answers received after the deadline may be be posted, but only on a weekly basis, and may therefore reach fewer readers.

MANP does not endorse candidates or promote or endorse any political party. MANP’s goal is to educate candidates by making them aware of the impact and potential of the nonprofit sector, and to educate voters by soliciting information directly from candidates on how they would partner with the sector if elected.
