From Transparency to Trust: Engaging Staff in Finances

Thursday, September 24, 2026
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM (EDT)

Event Details

This event is offered in partnership with the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN).

In uncertain financial times, transparency alone isn’t enough—staff need to be active participants in financial problem-solving. At Hope Community, we’ve evolved from sharing quarterly budget updates to engaging over half our staff in a biweekly finance committee. Through collaborative budgeting, shared decision frameworks, and open discussion of trade-offs, we’ve built a culture of trust and adaptability that strengthens our organization’s resilience.

Participants will:

  • Learn approaches to engage staff meaningfully in financial conversations.
  • Explore facilitation strategies for balancing transparency, inclusion, and accountability.
  • Leave with adaptable structures and practices to strengthen trust and creativity in their own organizations.
