Keynote Melanie Lockwood Herman, Nonprofit Risk Management Center

Presented by: Melanie Lockwood Herman, Nonprofit Risk Management Center

Nonprofit boards are becoming more and more interested in proactively and vigilantly discharging their duty of risk oversight. This keynote will benefit CEOs, CFOs and board members who are new to risk management and risk oversight, as well as veteran leaders who want to encourage their peers to join them on a journey down the yellow brick road of risk oversight. We’ll analyze Wizard of Oz characters like the Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow to better understand the array of nonprofit board member attitudes and approaches toward risk and risk oversight. By the end of this session, you’ll be ready to inspire your board (or your fellow board members) to leave Munchkinland and start a risk oversight journey to the Emerald City.
