What a Party! 25 Years Empowering People with Purpose

by Jennifer Hutchins

What an honor to celebrate Maine’s incredible nonprofit community and MANP’s 25th anniversary at UNE’s Innovation Hall last Thursday with 300+ Maine community and nonprofit leaders, each doing their part to power the common good and strengthen a remarkable network of people with purpose. Many thanks to all who braved the torrential downpour! We were also honored to have received video remarks from both Senator Susan Collins and Senator Angus King. You can see all of the evening’s photos on our Facebook page.

As noted that evening, we invite you to look to Nelson Mandela, inaugurated 25 years ago, for shared inspiration and connection as a group of committed citizens who are putting Maine people first each and every day: “Our daily deeds must produce a reality that will reinforce humanity’s belief in justice, strengthen its confidence in the nobility of the human soul and sustain all our hopes for a glorious life for all.”

Our call to action from the evening? To help us empower Maine’s network of people with purpose, you can:

  • Spread the word – Help us let others know about our collective work as a sector, using our Adding Up Impact report as a guide.
  • Reach out to one another – Learn from one another and cultivate a positive mindset of abundance … and gusto!
  • Help us ensure access to MANP’s services to all nonprofits regardless of ability to pay. With the help of generous individuals and organizations, MANP offers discounted memberships and scholarships for most of our programs. We would be honored if you felt inspired to help by making a contribution.
  • Encourage others to join our web – We are just shy of 1,000 nonprofit members and would love your help passing that threshold this year. Here’s how nonprofits can join MANP.

Beyond 2019, MANP is committed to cultivating the capacity, connections and cross-sector influence of Maine’s nonprofits by continuing to offer high-quality education, advocacy and membership programs and services. We hope you’ll remain (or become) an active part of our nonprofit web!

Many thanks again to everyone who made our celebration a huge success, including our generous sponsors, who are listed below.

Happy Summer! Hope to see you at an upcoming MANP event soon!
