New Charity Registration Service Available at Discount to MANP Members

Multi-State Charitable Solicitation Registration is a phrase that often strikes fear in the hearts of nonprofits. To help alleviate the stress, reduce hours of work time and reduce the cost, MANP is now offering SimpleCharityRegistration, a new online service that streamlines the registration process.

For Those Who Don’t Know…

40 states plus the District of Columbia require nonprofits that solicit or intend to solicit contributions from their residents to register with their Attorney General or Secretary of State’s office to ensure accountability and transparency to protect donors. Thus, if you send emails or direct mailings, make phone calls, advertise, or follow up with your online donors in a state, among other fundraising methods, you may need to register in that state. Noncompliance may result in fines or civil penalties.

For Those Who Do…

You’ve been through it. Papers all over your desk, binders, manila folders, calendar notes, your computer screen covered in tabs from Google searches for the state requirements, all trying to keep track of the different forms, deadlines, fees, and accompanying documentation.
