Our annual member survey is in the field and we need to hear from YOU! Your feedback allows us to continue to offer the training, resources and benefits that are most relevant to your needs. We encourage all our nonprofit members to share their opinions. What do you think we should be offering? How can we help your organization succeed?
Based on your feedback from last year, we’ve increased our in-depth programming, with a focus on building organizational leadership capacity and strong teams at both the staff and board level. We know that in order to attract and retain talent, and build a strong foundation from which to manage current and future change, nonprofits must invest in professional and leadership skill development.

Coaching is an essential tool for developing shared leadership and ownership within your organization. Leaders and managers who are confident and effective coaches in turn build a culture of empowered and committed employees, which increases mission impact, and prepares the organization to navigate change and transition. High performing boards work in constructive partnership with the chief executive and develop a deep, values-based understanding of why certain things matter to the organization’s work. A strong board is also a critical element in succession and sustainability planning, and managing leadership transition at both the board and staff levels. These in-person events are just a few of the opportunities we have created as a result of your survey responses. Our data shows almost 60% of nonprofits are anticipating an executive transition in the next 3-5 years, and other key leadership positions are turning over as well. We launched our Mission Driven Leadership to support you in preparing and managing those leadership transitions.
And we’ve increased access to our programs by expanding our free webinar library, our free resource library, and offering free-to-members training. So on behalf of all of us here at MANP, thank you so much for your engagement in this network. Your input helps us design innovative and responsive programming, not offered by anyone else in Maine.
