MANP Offers SkillBuilders at Discounted Rate!

by Rachael DeCruz

This spring MANP will be working with the Leadership & Organizational Studies Program of USM’s Lewiston-Auburn college in order to put on a discounted SkillBuilder event for nonprofits! On Wednesday, May 5th from 9:00 am – 12:15 am, three mini-SkillBuilders will be put on by the graduate-level students of the course “Understanding and Leading Individuals and Groups.”

The morning will consist of courses on three topics: shared leadership , authentic leadership, and effective group dynamics/process.  The shared leadership course will cover the concept of shared leadership, and how it can be used to improve both team and organizational performance. The course on authentic leadership will bring participants through a series of activities and reflections to help them explore how their own life experiences have both prepared and challenged them to become authentic leaders. The third and final course will focus around the ‘storming’ stage of group process, and will include an overview of group process, and also tips and techniques to help move your group forward. Each workshop is $25 for members, and $50 for nonmembers.

If participants are interested in signing up for two sessions (one from 9:00 am – 10:30 am, and one from 10:45-12:15), they can receive an additional discount ($40 members/$80 nonmembers). In order to receive the discount, you’ll need to call and register over the phone at 871-1885.
