MANP Launching New Website

by Molly O'Connell

There’s a big change coming to www.NonprofitMaine.org! Next Monday, May 13th we will (fingers crossed!) unveil our redesigned website, with a fresh new look and improved navigation.

NewSiteScreenShotWhat’s New?

We’ve heard your feedback and the new website (sneak peak on the right) is designed to help you:

  • find training, tools, connections and resources more easily,

and to

  • showcase the critical impact of Maine’s nonprofits on our quality of life.

Mark your calendars to:

  • explore the extensive resource collection in the improved Answer Center,
  • browse upcoming trainings and events,
  • learn about our Members + Friends,
  • find networks and coalitions related to your work,
  • subscribe to our blog,
  • find consultants and vendors serving the nonprofit sector in our Yellow Pages, and
  • much more!

Don’t forget to update your bookmarks, too, so you can stay on top of all the latest MANP news!

Have a MANP Online Account?

MANP will be using new technology to manage our “MANP Online Portal” which is the section of the site through which you can register for SkillBuilders, post jobs to the Nonprofit Job Board, update your personal and organizational information and more.

MANP Online Account holder data, event registration history, and other transaction history is safe with MANP and will be securely transitioned to our new system, but users will need to create new online accounts to re-connect with their data.

As of May 13th, if you have a MANP Online Account you will need to choose the “Forgot Your Password?” link before completing an online transaction. An email with further directions will be sent to the email you used to establish your MANP Online account.

If you have never completed an online transaction with MANP (an event registration, product purchase, etc.) then you may not have an account yet, and can just choose “Create an Account” to get started.

Please don’t hesitate to contact MANP at 207-871-1885 anytime during business hours and we can help you establish a new password, create an account with the new MANP Online, or find what you’re looking for within the new site.

Let Us Know What You Think

We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new www.NonprofitMaine.org and to continuing to improve how we serve up information, resources and connections online!

Congratulations on launching new website. I have done it for many clients and know what a challenge it can be. I am looking to transition from consulting back into a full time position and use the job board regularly. I think the rest of the site looks great, but the job board page is a little challenging. Without lines in between, or a color change its hard to follow the agency title, position and location across the page. The print is also quite small, and if you turn your iPad vertical it gets even smaller. The NH non profit job board uses colored lines to distinguish listings, and pHarvard’s site uses lines. See what other’s say! I appreciate the site very much. Thanks, Michelle Surdoval

Molly O'Connell says:

Hi Michelle,

Thanks so much for visiting the site and for your feedback! We agree that those would be helpful formatting changes for the job board. We have some technology limitations right now that reduce what we can change about that particular page, but hope to improve it in the future, and will definitely keep track of these ideas. In the meantime, we hope you continue to find the content useful despite the visual limitations!

Best wishes,
Molly

Need the posting dates for jobs on your website like you once had. They are important

Molly O'Connell says:

Hi Lorraine,

Thanks for your feedback! We definitely agree that they are important. We are constrained by some technology limitations on that particular page right now, but are hoping to get that issue corrected in the future. In the meantime, jobs are listed in order of when they were posted, with the most recent first. New jobs are added every business day. We’ve also added an application deadline field to help users understand whether the job is still active, and most organizations do also let us know when an application process is closed or a position has been filled, and we then removing the job posting.

Best wishes,
Molly
