MANP Announces New Executive Director
Please check out this important message from our Board President, Doug Woodbury.
It is with great pleasure that I announce we have selected Jennifer Hutchins as our new Executive Director to replace Scott Schnapp when he steps down later this summer. After a rigorous national search, Jennifer emerged as the clear choice to lead MANP in our mission to enrich the quality of community and personal life in Maine by advancing, connecting, and strengthening nonprofits.
Jennifer has a rich history as nonprofit leader and a vision for moving MANP forward while honoring our history and achievements. She joins us from her most recent role as Executive Director at Creative Portland, where she built the organization by working collaboratively and forging strategic partnerships. This role allowed her to use her networking and outreach skills to convene parties around common goals for our economy and community. Prior to that, she was at the USM Muskie School of Public Service, where she sharpened her skills and expanded her experience with communications and public policy.
Jennifer brings a strong background in encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation in Maine’s nonprofit community. She’s played a critical role in starting and growing groundbreaking programs such as 2 Degrees Portland and Maine Startup and Create Week. Jennifer has proven herself an effective cross-sector leader, a disciplined manager, and a champion for Maine. Her qualifications and network will prove to be indispensable.
For all these reasons and more, we are thrilled to welcome her to MANP. She will officially begin on Monday, July 18. I know you’ll be hearing from Jennifer directly in the coming weeks and months and we look forward to hearing from you, our members and friends, during this transition.
