It's Maine Nonprofit Week! Six Easy Ways to Participate
Here are six easy ways to be part of Maine Nonprofit Week.
1. Change your profile picture.
Just pick one of these images, update your temporary profile picture and you’re spreading the #NonprofitsGoodForME word. Bam.
2. Extend a hand to legislators.
Legislators want to meet and hear from their constituents. Nonprofit Week gives you a great opportunity to reach out to your legislators about something positive!
Email or call using these simple scripts. You’ll establish yourself as a resource and lay the groundwork for productive conversations when you want to draw their attention to an issue in the future.
3. Surprise your friends.
Did you know Maine nonprofits employ 1 in 6 Maine workers? Contribute $11 billion to the economy? Mobilize almost 350,000 volunteers each year? Share the facts with these social media graphics.
4. Join us at the State House.
Tomorrow, February 7, is our 14th Maine Nonprofit Day at the State House and we’ll be releasing the brand-new Adding Up Impact: Maine Nonprofits at Work report. All are welcome to join us in the Hall of Flags to celebrate and network. (Can’t make it? We’ll be experimenting with Facebook live!)
5. #StandForYourMission
Now is the time to make sure people know about what your organization does and why it matters. Challenge yourself to tell just one new person about your mission this week. Post your mission to Facebook and mention Maine Nonprofit Week. Bonus points for sharing a photo of your mission in action.
6. Celebrate!
If you’ll be in the Portland area on Thursday, join us for a Member Mingle at Rising Tide from 4:30-6:30. RSVP to our Membership Manager, Debbie Atwood.
I am committed to being a powerful voice for how nonprofits are critical partners to the public and private sectors in ensuring a strong future for Maine communities. During this Maine Nonprofit Week I hope you will join me in making a #StandForYourMission!
