Looking for meeting + event space?
At MANP, we regularly hear from Maine nonprofits that are grappling with how to proceed with their events in 2021. (For example, read our recent blog post about what we’re hearing from nonprofits about Spring and Summer fundraising events.)
Since many nonprofits partner with other businesses and community spaces to host their meetings, conferences, programs and galas, finding and booking venues that can support safe in-person events is a key part of the puzzle.
In recognition that having an efficient way to identify venue options is helpful to organizations when they are stretched thin, MANP surveyed meeting and event venues about how they are currently operating during the pandemic. As of this blog’s publication date, 35 venues in 10 different Maine counties have responded to the survey (and we’ll keep collecting information–see below).
- 57% of venues are currently taking bookings, and 11% report they plan to soon.
- 85% report they are ADA compliant (12% more have at least some spaces that are compliant).
- 66% offer either free or discounted booking for nonprofits.
The survey also collected information on room capacity ranges, equipment and technology available onsite, catering availability, parking, and booking contact information.
