Celebrate Nonprofit Day!

by Mary Erin Casale

Good morning from Augusta! We’re so thrilled to be celebrating our 13th Annual Nonprofit Day at the State House. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for live updates.
The only way to make it feel like a real celebration is if you join in! Even if you can’t join us in Augusta, you can still be an important part of the event. Be sure to take even a few minutes out of your day to share the work of your organization with the communities you serve.

Here are few resources to help you increase the awareness of nonprofits and their vital contributions to Maine’s economy and way of life.Video Capture

Share our new Nonprofits are Essential video!

Nonprofits are integral to every facet of our communities and this video is the easiest way possible to share that message. Take the two minutes to watch this video, then send it to everyone you know!

Get Social1 in 7

There are plenty of ways to get involved online. You could post one of these graphics to Facebook or update your cover picture image. Make sure you use the hashtag #NonprofitsGoodForME. In addition to using the sample tweets/posts/images you can find on our website, consider highlighting a volunteer, sharing a quote from a client, or posting a link to an article about your organization.

Be a Resource for Your Legislators

If you can’t make it to Augusta, we’ve created the following resources to help strengthen your relationships with policymakers. Establish yourself as a trusted expert on issues facing your community and how your organization can be a vital partner in creating solutions.

Strengthen Your Advocacy Capacity

The important work of nonprofits should be celebrated year round. Take advantage of our training and resources to help nonprofit staff and volunteers to advocate and lobby effectively and legally.
