Be a Fundraiser When You Grow Up
At my son’s recent preschool event there was a display board with pictures of all the children holding chalkboards telling what they wanted to be when they grew up.
You won’t be shocked to know:
- This was adorable.
- Not one of them wrote “fundraiser” as a career goal.
Most of us did not enter the nonprofit world because we love asking for money. This video by Andy Robinson, the featured speaker at our upcoming Focus on Fundraising event, reminds us that in all likelihood, however, we all feel passionate about the missions that money helps make possible.
Embrace being a fundraiser! Bring a board/staff team to the event on December 3rd to meet Andy, re-energize, and increase your effectiveness. Learn more.
(And in case you’re wondering, my son said he wanted to be Batman, which I take as a good sign that he’ll enter the nonprofit sector like his mama, since that’s an excellent career choice for champions of justice. Perhaps he’ll even raise money!)
