2018 Leaders & Luminaries Awards

The entire MANP team would like to congratulate this year’s Camden National Bank Leaders & Luminaries Awards recipients!

On Wednesday, October 31 at MANP’s Fall 2018 Executive Leadership Forum, Camden National Bank presented awards to four outstanding board members for their successful use of passion, innovation and resourcefulness to advance their organizations and help our communities thrive. Each individual received a check in the amount of $5,000 for their respective organizations. Those honored were:

From Maine Inside Out: Board Co-Chair Meagan Sway, Board Co-Chair and Honoree Samaa Abdurraqib, and Co-Founder and Director of Development Tessy Seward

Samaa Abdurraqib, Maine Inside Out

Excerpt from Samaa’s nomination:
“Samaa brought [to our board] expertise in facilitation, and made an immediate impact by supporting board members to hold some difficult and important conversations. She earned the respect and gratitude of other members by listening closely and asking thoughtful questions at each meeting.”

Brad and Kitty Babson

Brad Babson, Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust

Excerpt from Brad’s nomination:
“It’s hard to overstate how much Brad’s quiet ability to leverage the capabilities of others has contributed to BTLT’s remarkable increase in institutional capacity and sustainability since he assumed leadership of the organization.”

In addition, two other individuals were given Emerging Leaders awards in recognition for their developing leadership roles in their organizations. Those two honorees were:

“Without Steven’s help at critical times, the Game Loft would not exist today. He has created the plans and supervised the operations that are required in a growing and evolving organization.”

“Understanding the nuances of our programming is hard enough to explain in person and Chelsea, through her art, has created pieces that speak to audiences and clearly portray the power of our organization.”
