2016 Nonprofit Day at the State House

by Mary Erin Casale

MANP is excited to announce we will host our 13th Annual Nonprofit Day at the State House on January 14, 2016! This day is a unique opportunity to showcase the work of our member organizations while building relationships with legislators. Each year, twelve MANP members exhibit with us in the Hall of Flags during the Nonprofit Day at the State House  to highlight the diversity and richness of Maine’s nonprofit sector. Applications are OPEN! The member selection process is competitive and applications will only be accepted until November 13, 2015.

Each year we host events and provide resources to:

  • increase the awareness of nonprofits and their vital contributions to Maine’s economy and way of life;
  • strengthen relationships between nonprofit leaders and public officials; and
  • encourage nonprofit leaders to participate fully in the formation of public policy that impacts the communities they serve.-

Nonprofits matter! You know that. Now it’s time to let your representatives in Augusta about the social and economic impact of your work. Advocacy is a critical piece of the effectiveness of mission-driven organizations and State House Day is a great way to get started. If your organization is a member in good standing and hasn’t been an exhibitor in the past seven years, why wouldn’t you apply?
