Southern New Hampshire University's Maine Campus Offers Nonprofit Leadership Certificate and Masters Degree Programs
MANP members interested in increasing their knowledge of nonprofit
management may want to consider Southern New Hampshire University’s (SNHU) Graduate Certificate in Leadership of Nonprofit Organizations and/or its Master of Science in Organizational Leadership – both offered at the Maine Center in Brunswick.
The Graduate Certificate is a six-course sequence that focuses on organizational development, marketing, nonprofit management and leading change in community-based organizations. It dovetails with SNHU’s Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (or, alternatively, the MBA program), allowing completion of the full masters degree with only six additional courses.
The Master of Science in Organizational Leadership focuses on providing participants the opportunity to develop or improve skills in leadership, communications, problem-solving and teamwork, all critical for successfully managing and leading organizations in today’s chaotic environment. The 12-course (36-credit) program is designed for both experienced professionals seeking to advance in their careers, and for individuals with limited professional experience who are seeking to develop skills that will prepare them to manage and lead teams, departments and organizations.
The Ph.D. in Community Economic Development - The School of Community Economic Development at SNHU advocates community development as a strategy for addressing socioeconomic problems in rural and urban communities. Such development calls for social and economic activities and programs that promote total community benefit rather than individual financial gain. SCED offers a variety of educational programs intended to provide practitioners, policymakers and researchers with the necessary skills to make their community initiatives successful, including a Ph.D. in Community Economic Development that is accessible to working adults. With over 1200 graduates since its founding in 1982, the School has been instrumental in helping to affect change in marginalized communities across the nation and in developing countries around the world.
Students enrolled in the above programs offered through its Maine Center receive a steeply discounted (45%) tuition rate of $699 per three-credit graduate course.
Southern New Hampshire University, with its main campus in Manchester, is fully accredited, and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs, including doctorates in Business and Community Economic Development.
