Launched in 2007, the Dirigo Awards for Nonprofit Excellence in Maine will be presented annually by the Maine Association of Nonprofits to the three Maine nonprofit organizations that have achieved significant results by utilizing ingenuity combined with sound management practices, outlined in the Guiding Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Maine. The deadline for the 2008 Awards is March 28, 2008.
Awards

- $3,000 to three Maine nonprofit organizations
- Maine-made, handcrafted wood and marble statuettes for each winning organization
- State-wide recognition

- Free to all applicants
- Open to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Maine
- Open to nonprofits of any size, age, budget or sub-sector

Free Awards Workshop
MANP will hold a free workshop for interested applicants on February 28, 2008, from 9am-noon at the MANP offices in Portland. The workshop will include a small panel including 2007 award winner Will Everett from Friends of Casco Bay and a member of the 2008 award selection committee, Elizabeth Banwell. Please RSVP to Chris McCabe by February 14 if you plan to attend.
