About our Principles & Practices Program

"Thanks so much to the folks at MANP for creating the Principles and Practices Basic Infrastructure Checklist! We are a new non-profit, and have been looking for a streamlined version of "the most important things a non-profit should be doing." We have a new board committee structure designed, and we're dividing up the checklist according to our focus areas. The checklist is helping us to celebrate those items that we are already doing well, be "in process" with items that still need some work, and be clear about what we aspire to. We're grateful for the clarity, depth and user-friendly qualities of this document. Most appreciated!"

"The MANP Principles and Practices On-line assessment is extremely useful. Just thinking through the statements and having to mark something helps one focus on what one has in place, what one is lacking, and areas one is totally ignorant about. The final print out makes it easy to see what needs to be done. Then it's up to the board to set priorities and get to work. It’s a tremendously helpful tool. And I'll start work on our FIRST EVER Annual Report - tomorrow!"

About our Education Programs

"I have found the SkillBuilder training sessions to be valuable in my growth as a foundation employee. In addition to having a more in-depth understanding of my own responsibilities, I believe I am better able to assist nonprofit staff with questions and concerns about their back-office operations.

"I’ve made some important contacts with both nonprofit and funder employees at the SkillBuilder sessions. Relationships begun several years ago are still flourishing, and provide resources I use to assist the nonprofits with whom I work."

"The Institute for Financial Literacy has been very please with our membership in e-learning. We currently use them to assist with the required HR training. The majority of our staff is housed at a work station/call center. E-learning enables staff to view the required HR training videos at their work station and in conjunction with their schedule. The flexibility that e-learning provides allows us to meet the DOL training standards while continuing to provide great customer service and allow our staff some control over their schedule."
