The Nonprofit Voice Project

2008 Candidate Responses

MANP is pleased to participate in the V3 Campaign whose goal is to get candidates for local and national office to start talking about the nonprofit sector. To this end, we have surveyed all Maine candidates for national and state office and asked them the following two questions:

  1. Please describe your personal and professional experiences with nonprofit organizations.

  2. Please provide specific ways in which, if elected, you would partner with and strengthen the nonprofit sector to achieve the goals of your campaign.

Here are the responses of those who have responded:

MANP does not endorse candidates, nor does any activity of the Nonprofit Voter Engagement Project seek to promote or endorse any political party. All activities of this project are designed to comply with the IRS guidelines for acceptable political activity of a 501 (c)(3), nonprofit organization. MANP ’s goal is to educate candidates by making them aware of the impact and potential of the nonprofit sector, and to educate voters by soliciting information directly from candidates on how they would strengthen and partner with the sector if elected.
