The Center for Grieving Children
The Center for Grieving Children provides loving support to children, teens and families, and the community through peer support, outreach and education. Coastal Mountains Land Trust
The mission of Coastal Mountains Land Trust is to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of western Penobscot Bay. Since 1986, we have protected almost 5,900 acres of land in that region for its wildlife habitat, forest, farm, and water resources, scenic beauty, and public recreation opportunities.

Friends of Seguin Island
Our mission is to preserve the Seguin Island Light Station, commissioned by George Washington in 1795 and the second oldest in Maine . 64 acre Seguin Island is located 2 ½ miles from the mouth of the Kennebec River . Preservation efforts focus on six historic structures, including the only operating tramway in Maine . Seguin 's light is the highest in Maine beaming out at 144' above sea level. The light, an 1857 First Order Fresnel lens is the only original continuously operating north of Virginia . The lens is currently being restored by the US Coast Guard, which operates the light.

Herring Gut Learning Center
Herring Gut Learning Center is a non-profit marine education and resource center located in the small fishing village of Port Clyde, Maine. We teach marine science, aquaculture, geology, and coastal ecology to students of all ages through a variety of hands-on school-based, community outreach, and summer camp programs.  Our campus includes shellfish and finfish hatcheries, an aquaponic greenhouse, classrooms, and a marine resource library.  Throughout the year we offer a variety of interactive tours and educational programs that focus on the preservation of Maine's ocean resources and the traditions of those who make a living from the sea

Maine Humanities Council
Born to Read, the Maine Humanities Council's early literacy program, serves all 16 Maine counties. Over 200 volunteers provide read-aloud programs to child care providers and model reading aloud through home visits. Since its inception in 1997, Born to Read has: reached over 12,000 families and 17,000 children; served over 300 child care sites; given away over 25,000 books; and offered 132 training sessions and energized over 2,000 training participants to become early literacy advocates. Maine Preservation, founded in 1971, is a private nonprofit statewide historic preservation advocacy organization.  Its mission is to promote the preservation, protection and vitality of Maine 's historic places and to encourage quality design that contributes to the livability of our communities. Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association
Established in 1969, the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association (SVCA) is a non-profit land trust and advocacy group of 550 member families.  Our mission is to conserve and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Sheepscot Watershed which encompasses 320 square miles in mid-coast Maine.  We currently protect more than 2,200 acres through purchases and conservation easements.  This includes over 13 miles of Sheepscot River frontage.

Western Mountains Alliance
The Eat Smart Eat Local Project was founded in 2005 as a new sustainable agriculture program of Western Mountains Alliance (WMA). WMA is a nonprofit organization supporting sustainable community and economic development initiatives in western Maine.

Eat Smart Eat Local is striving to increase demand for local produce that encourages farmers to increase their production. WMA provides technical assistance, workshops and outreach to farmers to help them grow more, store more, extend the harvest and market produce. Women in Harmony
Women in Harmony is a 56-voice women's chorus based in Portland Maine . Founded in 1993, the group is dedicated both to musical excellence and social justice. This intersection of high-quality music and thoughtful social action gives Women in Harmony a unique niche among singing groups in Northern New England .
