Hardy Girls Healthy Women's goal is to build hardiness
zones to support girls' and women's healthy development.
The definition of a hardiness zone flows from the understanding
that fertile soil is needed in order for plants to flourish-and
so it is with girls and women. It's a safe place, where
women and girls have control and support for who we are
and who we want to be. Hardy Girls Healthy Women works to
create good soil that nurtures us, feeds our spirits and
strengthens our roots. Hardy Girls Healthy Women is a grassroots
organization working towards raising community awareness
about the detrimental effects the culture has on girls'
healthy development and providing resources for community
and cultural change. Our vision is that all women and girls
in Maine experience equality, independence and safety in
their everyday lives.
